Penned Down × Penny Speaks / Poetry zine worlds
Some stories need a whole book.
Some need to sit in your hand and tell the truth.
Poetry, story, and visual art. Each zine has its own atmosphere. Each opens a different door.
Pick a world. Pull a thread. ↗Explore the work as it takes shape. This is a preview room; finished editions will be listed separately when ready.
01 / Choose the story that caught your sleeve
001 / The party. The labor. The people who stayed.
A celebration can hold resentment, love, disappointment, and a memory you didn’t know would become irreplaceable. Follow three moments from the story.

“I threw the damn party again yall”
Penny Simmons · Story fragment
The work behind the smiles. The planning, the showing up, and the feelings that do not fit neatly on an invitation.
Not every party is only about the party.
Three envelopes / Choose what to open
What would you say if you did not have to make the sentence easier for someone else to hear?
There can be a distance between the words you send and the care you hope comes back.
Some words can stay with you. You get to choose whether the letter leaves the page.
Original website reflections inspired by the project’s themes; not zine excerpts. Manuscript and interior are still being completed.
Behind the project / What paperwork leaves out
A zine in development around illness, inability to work, money, bureaucracy, and the exhaustion of repeatedly explaining yourself.
Appointments, waiting, recovery, and the day that keeps moving while you cannot.
Theme notes, not manuscript excerpts. Final visual direction and interior remain in development.
02 / Leave a little ink of your own
Try a tiny piece of visual poetry. Choose a starting point, write in your own words, then fold the thought into a card.
Begin with an object left behind. What did it hold that nobody else could see?
Your writing stays on this open page only. No account, saving, submission, or public wall. Reloading clears it.
A little ink / In your own words
03 / From the studio to your hands
